Most kids would do well to start off with off-road r/c trucks. These are typically more durable and can be run on various surfaces such as parking lots and baseball fields. And in the USA, most popular are the off-road models and there are many off-road rc tracks for fun and racing. And of course, it is fun to see these kits jump in the air! Popular in the hobby are the short course remote controlled trucks. Realistic looks, simplicity and cheap price makes it a good first kit for beginners.
